don't need to be managed, they need to be
unleashed." -Richard

At Aegis Coaching, we have
found that the label of 'leadership' best
defines what we do. That is leadership that is
not defined by titles or position, but
leadership that aligns what you do with who you
are.
Whether you are a C.E.O, an executive, a manager
or blue-collar worker, you were born to lead.
You were born with the desire to step excitedly
into your life, the courage to do it, and the
ability to make your wildest dreams come true.
At Aegis, we approach leadership from three
perspectives:
The Art of
Leadership – What You Do
The Heart of Leadership – Who You Are
The Joy of Leadership – The Difference You Make

The Art of Leadership: What You Do
Typically, professional training and development have
focused on ‘what’ to do and ‘how’ to do it. Those are
important. However, what we know from coaching highly
skilled, trained, and educated managers over the past
five years is that knowing what to do doesn’t naturally
equate to actually doing it. In fact, it has been
estimated that traditional training and development is
successful only about 20% of the time in generating
change in participants.
The Heart of Leadership: Who You Are
It is not enough to know what to do. As well as the art
of leadership, effective leaders are able to build
relationships, communicate effectively, and effectively
balance the many hats they are required to wear.
Effective leaders are not just practicing a
going-through-the-motions style of leadership but have
stepped into the full-meal-deal experience of embracing
all that they are to fully engage in life and work.
Our Personal Leadership Manifesto™
workbook and F.O.C.U.S. Formula™
serve as reminders that the journey to getting goals is
much more satisfying when we stay true to who we are.
The Joy of Leadership: The Difference You Make
Wherever you are and whatever you do; you are making a
difference. The question is, are you making a positive
difference or a negative one? By choosing to lead with
the certainty of knowing who you are, you choose to lead
from a place of strength. You choose your choices, you
choose your focus … you make a difference. You are
impacting the people and the world around you in a
positive or negative way. You get to choose which it is.

By engaging a professionally-trained and certified coach
to deliver a program, you ensure that you are
maintaining your own high standards while being on the
cutting edge of change strategies. Coaching is
recognized as an effective tool for enduring, positive
change. Quite simply, it works because professional
coaches tailor the process to the individual needs of
its clients.
"The research data is flowing, and the impact of
coaching on business and organizational environments is
outstanding." For example:
-
Merrill Anderson, Ph.D., author
“Bottom-Line Organizational Development” reports ROI
with one Fortune 500 company in excess of an
unbelievable 500% as a result of a coaching
program.
-
Manchester Inc., an executive coaching firm, reports
that:
-
Executive coaching delivered an average return
of 5.7 times the initial investment in a typical
executive coaching assignment, through
improvements in productivity, quality, executive
turnover, customer service, and shareholder
value.
-
53% of executives report
improved productivity.
-
77% report improved working
relationships with direct reports.
-
71% report improved working
relationships with immediate supervisors.
Aegis Coaching Services utilizes the co-active
coaching model which presupposes that individuals
are creative, resourceful, and whole and uses techniques
that are proven to reinforce self-confidence and
resilience.
Here is a small sample of what Our Clients have
said about the difference coaching has made:
-
I
now have the
understanding and the tools to enable me to
step back and plan. I'm almost a better
planner; i.e., rather than rushing in, I
take time to assess and strategize. As a
result, I think I'm a better manager ...
more proactive.
-
I am more
willing to just sit down with staff at every
level and just ... talk. As a result, I am
hearing things that are helpful in
understanding what is really going on with
them and what is important.
-
I am more at
ease.
-
I have a higher level of listening; that is,
I am more aware of the impact of really
listening.
As a result, the door is open a
little more to others, and I am less judging
of others.
-
I am less stressed and more relaxed. I now
find that I want to give people the
time needed to really listen to them and
focus on them.
-
I am committed
to having more in-person visits with staff.
