The title of this month’s e-letter evolved from what could be called my impatience with the whiners and complainers. You know, those people who seem to walk around with a perpetual cloud overhead, constantly bemoaning the weather, the cost of gas, the latest memo from head office. As Gilda Radner used to say “It’s always something” with those folks.

Just last week, I was sitting in a blood lab waiting for a routine procedure, and heard a conversational exchange that is rather typical, I regret to say. It was an older person saying things like: I feel so bad for young people. There are no jobs. Education is so expensive and then they can’t get a job. They end up flipping hamburgers.

This is this man’s perspective. It is his ‘story’ about his reality. I choose not to hang out with those stories. They can drag me down. If I let them. They can dampen my spirit. If I let them. They can drain my energy. If I let them.

Where do I begin to play catch up with you-all? It has been many months since my last e-letter. My life and my business continue to unfold in the most unpredictable ways. Here’s a few updates:

I am offering my “Coaching Difficult People” workshop in Moncton, New Brunswick, on Nov. 24th. This workshop is a powerful portal to more effective workplace leadership. Email Sheila for a brochure.

You may notice that I have a new look on my site and the next edition of this newsletter.  Thanks to talented Jade Communications www.jade-communications.com for their patience in partnering with me to create a new logo. Pretty spiffy, ay?

Imagine my surprise when I heard that my buddy, colleague, and sales coach extraordinaire, Crystal Hennigan, www.salescoach.ca had nominated me as a “Woman of Excellence” through the Halifax-Cornwallis chapter, Canadian Progress Clubs. Thank you, Crystal. The fact that you nominated me really says more about you than about me.

Hire a coach! Since my last e-letter, I have launched a website dedicated to connecting potential clients with Canadian coaches. If you are looking for an executive coach, a sales coach, a relationship coach, a life coach, coaching workshops or speakers … please check out www.CoachesCanada.comYou’ll find professional coaches from all across Canada.

I was recently featured in the “Ask the Expert” section of The Mail Star. The newspaper asked, “What skill is most lacking in workplaces?” I responded: I continually see employees at all levels struggling with how to take all their wonderful talent, education, knowledge, skill, and ability and use it in a way that is meaningful for them. >>>read more

Know anyone who is struggling with debt? If so, please have them check out “The Middle Income Guide to Eliminating Debt” at www.eliminatingdebt.ca. This e-book was written by Trish Bishop who says she ‘had to learn these lessons the hard way’ and wants to make it easier for others to get out from under the burden of debt.

Congratulations to CoachesCanada charter member, Colette Robicheau, on her recent appearance on ATV’s national program, Good Morning Canada. You can visit Colette’s website at www.professionalorganizing.ca
