This newsletter looks at the “O” in The F.O.C.US. Formula^TM:
Operating from the high road.

I must be crazy. Who am I to offer advice on operating from the high road? After all, any advice I give could be used against me! If not in a court of law, at least in relationship with friends, family and colleagues.

The thing is, for me to propose that I always operate from the high road would not only be untrue, but downright ludicrous. As well, and quite frankly, it would provide a wonderful opportunity for all kinds of folks, past and present, to remind me of the many ways I have detoured and continue to detour from that elevated position on the high road. Yes.

And yet, I am not deterred. I cling firmly to a desire to be the person that I know I can be, and there are actually moments of time when I am the compassionate, understanding, and graceful being that I aspire to be.

What I know is that, whatever the destination, whatever the goal, that when I choose my own personal high road, the journey is always … always … much less challenging to navigate.

As we journey deeper into the New Year, I wonder:
What kind of person would you like to be?
What choices will you make to become more like that person?
What would be the impact on your personal and professional life?
